Dairy fork in meaty sink

Question:

Last night I served meatballs and watermelon for dinner, along with a few other foods and disposable, plastic cutlery. I left the dinner on the table and then a babysitter came. Later, I found a milchig fork in the fleishig sink with some reddish/pinkish sauce on it. I think it was from the watermelon, but I’m a little concerned it’s from the meatballs. What should I do?

Answer:

Hello,

Wash off the fork with some soap, and water that isn’t hot. Even if the babysitter did use a fork to eat some of the meat, it was cold, and therefore the fork is not tref. You would want to get off any residue, and for that washing it with soap will suffice.

Best wishes
