I have a small balcony lemon tree. This year for the first time is giving lemons. Can I harvest and give them to a non-Jew? If not, what should I do with the lemons?

If it is within the first three years from when the tree was planted or replanted, then the lemons will be orlah and we don’t benefit from them in any way. This would include giving it to a gentile, the reason is because the gentile will now owe us a favor, which is considered gaining and benefitting from the orlah. You may however tell a gentile, that you may not benefit or eat the lemons, and if he wants, he can take them. This is permitted because you are telling him that you are not giving it to him, however if he wants, he can take them as if it is from hefker, as a gentile may eat orlah.
