Maaser on Sprouts

Question:

1. If we grow lentil (or similar) sprouts in our kitchen, using just water, must we separate trumos and maasros? No dirt is involved.
2. If we grow sunflower seed sprouts in our kitchen, which are planted in a tray of dirt, must we separate trumos and maasros?

Hello,

1. There is controversy about this, therefore it is advisable to take off terumos and maasros without a bracha.
2. Since they are planted in a tray of dirt they are considered planted, and you would separate terumos and maasros.
