Hi, I am confused about when to say Birkat Hatorah.
Let’s say someone says Birkat Hatorah after dawn daily, and they study throughout the day. They then go to sleep at 6 pm and get up right before Chatzot to study. [sleeping around ~ 4-5 hrs]
- a) If they plan to study for couple of hours (like 2-3 hours) after Chatzot, then go to sleep (for another ~2-3 hours) to get up after dawn, do they say Birkat Hatorah at Chatzot before studying?
- b) If they get up at Chatzot and want to stay up all night, do they say Birkat Hatorah before studying and omit reciting it at dawn?
- c) Does saying Birkat Hatorah relate to what they study at night? Whether they say study Talmud alone without reciting Tikkun Chatzot?

Hello,
- A) Ye they do, since they went to sleep for a significant amount of time, therefore regarding birkas hatorah it is if the is starting his day at chatzot. After waking up the second time, in the morning he does not have to say Birkat Hatorah again, however if he wants to, he may. Similar to saying Birkat Hatorah when waking up from sleeping during the day. He doesn’t have to say it again, however if he wants to he may.
- B) He will say it when he gets up and not in the morning.
- C) When a person says Birkas Hatorah in the morning, it goes for everything he will learn until he goes to sleep, even if he will go to sleep after saying tikkun chatzos.
