Tzedoko collection on Purim

Question:

Our 11-year-old son went around for Tzedoko on Purim. He had two pushkes in his hands, one where it said on, and where the money was ment for Anyei Eretz Yisroel. The second box he wanted for himself as Purim gelt, however he didn’t specify that it’s for himself. Is he allowed to keep it or do people automatically assume that it’s for Tzedoko?

Thank you very much!

Answer:

Hello,
Under the assumption that you are providing him with his needs, and therefore he isn’t an needy kid, being that the money was given by the people with the intention that it would go for a tzedoka, it should be given to some sort of tzedakah.
Best wishes
