Question:
On Purim our 7-year-old son went around with a pushka, wanting to collect Purim gelt for himself. The Pushka was plain, and he didn't mention that it was for him. Can he keep the money, or do people assume that any pushka is ment for Tzedoko?
Thank you!
Answer:
Hello,
If it is a done thing in your area, that a child will collect tzedakah for himself on Purim, then he can keep it, however if it isn’t the done thing, then the people giving the money meant to give it to a real tzedakah, and the money should be given to a real tzedakah.
Your tzaddikim should grow up to be talmidei chachomim
Best wishes
