Question:
My daughter drank out of a dairy glass (made of glass) about an hour after eating a meat dinner. She did not brush her teeth or rinse her mouth first. Basically, she was not thinking and it was by accident. Are there any kosher issues or is it sufficient to simply wash the glass in cold water? Everything was cold.
Answer:
Hello,
The glass is fine to use. if you want you can wash it off, but there is no need to be concerned here about anything. the reason we wait 6 hours between meat and milk is because the meat can get stuck between the person’s teeth, and because of a lingering taste of meat on the palate and throat. None of these, apply to using a milky drinking glass an hour after eating meat. and as you write everything was cold.
Best wishes
