Jewish Prayer

How often would a Jew pray a day. Does a rabbi or other leader/teacher pray more?

Answer:

A (observant) Jew prays three times a day. As with all principles of Judasim, a rabbi or religious leader does not pray more than any other Jew, for in Jewish practice there is absolutely no difference between rabbi and layman, scholar and ignoramous. All are obligated in the same religious duties, and prayer (three times a day) is one of them.

Most women, it should be noted, pray only once or twice a day, the obligation of women in prayer being something of a debate among rabbinic authorities. According to all authorities, the third (night) prayer is not obligatory for women.
