Shaving after Tisha b’Av

Question:

Can I shave mozei Tisha b’Av or do I have to wait till tomorrow after chazot?

Answer:

You should wait until after chatzos on the tenth of Av, unless there are extenuation circumstances. The reason for this is because essentially the Bais Hamikdash started to burn during the afternoon of Tisha B’av and continue to burn until the tenth of Av in the late afternoon. Although most of the Bais Hamikdash burned ion the tenth of Av, the fast day and main mourning is on the ninth of Av, since that was the day that it started, and most halachos don’t apply after Tisha b’Av. Nevertheless, the custom is not to shave or eat meat until the afternoon of the tenth of Av for this reason.

Best wishes
