Hi Rabbi,
I donated to a Purim Fund that distributes funds on Purim and says on it that it fulfills matanos levonim.
However, I had in mind that this is Tzedakah for matanos levonim. I only just now learned that matanos levonim is supposed to be separate and cannot be tzedakah. Does this mean that my contribution does not count as matanos levonim? Or, can it still be counted as matanos levonim. The dollar amount was more than a meal for two people.

The money that you gave can still be for matznos levyonim. However just make sure that you calculate this mpney as maaser.
