Our outdoor farm animals (chickens, rabbits) are brought fresh water daily, but when the temps drop in winter, the existing water in their rubber bowls will freeze solid. On Shabbos, is it permissible to remove ice from the bowls either using an implement (ex hammer), or turning the bowl upside down and stomping on it so the ice chunk is dislodged before filling it with fresh water?

It is permitted, because you are not making the ice into water, rathr just cutting it so you can remove it from the bowl as ice.
