Tefflin that might have gotten damaged

Question:

My tefillin was inside a hard suitcase that was slammed relatively hard from the outside while I was leaving the house. It was in with clothes and other items that might have cushioned it. The actual suitcase was not damaged so it was not a catastrophic impact or anything like that. In any event, I have examined the tefillin and there does not appear to be any noticeable damage on the outside. Do I need to be concerned that they might have been damaged on the inside? Should it get them checked? If so, what should I do in the meantime? I’m out of town for most of the week.

Answer:

Hello,

There is no need for you to check your tefillin. if they look fine onthe outside, there is no need to be wary that something happened to them on the inside.

Best wishes
