I previously asked if leftover kiddush wine can be poured back into bottle, but another question I have is what if on Friday night I notice that I only have 1 cup worth of wine for the entire Shabbat, what would be the proper practice in this case?

The Shulchan Aruch discusses your question. He writes, that it depends on how much you have. If you have 5 ounces of wine, which is enough wine for a reviis (according to R’ Ch. Neah), plus a “cheekful”, (“maleh lugmov” which is “rov riviis” the majority of a reviis which is a little more than 1.5 pounces), then you will make kiddush Friday night on all of the wine, however before drinking from the cup, pour off a little bit, (even less than an ounce), and drink a cheek full, (1.6-2 ounces). The rest you will save for Havdalah, (unless you have beer or some other drink which can be used for Havdalah). The reason for pouring off a little bit before you drink the wine from the kiddush cup is, by pouring off some of the wine beforehand, you can then pour that wine onto the cup, after drinking from the kiddush cup in order to remove the pagum aspect from it. This way you will still have a reviis of wine in the cup when you drink from it, and you will also have a reviis of wine to use for havdalah.
The reason for this is since we cannot use bread for Havdalah, it is more important to use the wine for Havdalah even though it mean, that you won’t make kiddush Shabbos day at all. Or find yourself a kiddush to go to, in order to be yotza the daytime kiddush.

שולחן ערוך אורח חיים הלכות שבת סימן רעא סעיף יא “אם אין לו אלא כוס אחד, מקדש בו בלילה ואינו טועם ממנו, שלא יפגימנו, אלא שופך ממנו לכוס אחר וטועם יין של קידוש מהכוס השני, ולמחר מקדש במה שנשאר בכוס ראשון; ואם לא היה בו אלא רביעית בצמצום ונחסר ממנו בלילה, מוזגו למחר להשלימו לרביעית. והיינו דוקא כשיש לו כוס אחר להבדלה, שאל”כ מוטב שיניחנה להבדלה, שא”א בפת, משיקדש עליו ולא יהא לו יין להבדלה; ואם יש לו שני כוסות מצומצמים אחר מזיגה, יקדש בלילה באחד ויבדיל על השני; ולא יקדש ביום, דקידוש דלילה עדיף.” ובמשנה ברורה שם ס”ק נא וז”ל “מהכוס השני – ובמ”א הסכים לדעת התוספות דכוס של חובה צריך להיות הטעימה דוקא מכוס שיש בו רביעית יין וע”כ הנכון שיעשה כך ישפוך מתחלה מהכוס הראשון לתוך כוס אחר ויזהר שישאר בו רביעית יין ויטעם מהכוס הראשון כשיעור מלא לוגמיו ואח”כ ישפוך היין שבכוס אחר לתוך כוס זה דבזה נתקן פגימתו וכדלעיל בסימן קפ”ב סעיף וי”ו ויוכל לקדש עליו אם יש בו עתה רביעית יין”.
