Meals without bread

Question:

Hello,
Aside from holiday meals, does bread need to be part of every dinner? For example, on a non-holiday, Tuesday night, could someone just have a salad without bread, or fish and rice, or even just yogurt and fruit?

Answer:

We are not obligated to eat a bread meal during the week, and your suggestions are fine. On Shabbos and Yom Tov we have an obligation to eat two bread meals a day, and on Shabbo it is preferred that the third maal also be a bread meal, however it is not an obligation.

Best wishes
