Rabbi,
I am trying to repent for the damage I caused due to lashon hora. The person I sinned against died long ago. I can no longer talk to the person and ask for their forgiveness. How do I go about this?
Also are there any Ketuvim that address this?

Hello,
While it isn’t so easy, there is a way to correct this situation. There are specific halachos, how one is supposed to ask forgiveness from a person that has already died. The person is supposed to go the person’s grave together with ten people, then when they are there the person removes their shoes, and says, “I sinned to Hashem and to (the persons name) by doing such and such. Then the ten people exclaim “mochul loch, mocul loch, mochul loch”, (which is three times). If you are far away from the person’s grave and can’t make it yourself, someone else can go with ten people and do this there. If repeating what you said would cause embarrassment to the deceased person, then you don’t have to be specific.
Hashem should help all of us to be zoche to do a full teshuva for our aveiros.
