Brachot

Question:

What bracha do we make on mixed nuts

Answer:

Hello,

The bracha on all nuts is haetz, with the exception of what we call peanuts, which grows in the ground and its bracha is hoadama. Therefore, if there aren’t peanuts mixed in, the bracha is Haetz. Even if there are peanuts in the mixture, if they ae meant to be eaten together, then the bracha will be hoeatz, as the majority of mixed nuts are regular nuts, however if you are eating them separately, one nut at a time, then you would make two brachos: haetz on a pistachio or cashew, and hoadoama on a peanut.

Best wishes
