Wearing jewelry or applying makeup essentially is included in the prohibition not to anoint or shower during aveilus. However, there are certain women who are an exception to the rule.
A married woman, may not put on makeup or jewelry during shiva however during shloshim she is permitted. A newlywed (within 30 days of her wedding) may wear jewelry and makeup even during shiva. A single girl, should not wear makeup or wear jewelry during shloshim. A girl in shidduchim, may wear jewelry or apply makeup during shiva or sheloshim.
