Question:
A woman lighting Shabbos candles generally davens Minchah before she lights.
Let’s say I try to light ten minutes earlier than the zman hadlakas neiros, but I see that I’m running late. Should I daven Mincha and then light candles even if I end up lighting later than I would want to? (Though it will be much earlier than shkiya, and maybe even earlier than zman hadlakos neiros?
Or should I light candles with a stipulation that I still want to daven Mincha?

Hello,
A woman is mekabel Shabbos when she lights her candles, therefore she should daven mincha before lighting them. If she didn’t daven Mincha yet, and it is getting late, according to the Mishna Berura and many other poskim say she should light and not daven Mincha, and she should daven Maariv twice[1]. Others[2] say that she may make a tnai- condition (see 7-c below) that she is not mekabel Shabbos yet, so she can daven Mincha.
This is all if it is indeed getting late and there isn’t time for her to daven mincha, however if you are merely not lighting as early as you would like to, then daven mincha and light afterwards.
