Mezuzah on swimming pool

Question:

I very much enjoyed the mezuzos articles. Does a public swimming pool in which people don’t change require a mezuzah? Going swimming is inherently not considered an undignified activity. The gemara says a father should teach his son how to swim.

Answer:

Hello,

There is controversy about this. On one hand there are authorities who say that it would get a mezuza, if it has a roof. Others however say that even though it is a mitzva for a father to teach his son to swim, nevertheless a swimming pool is considered like a bathhouse, and would not get a mezuza.

Best wishes
