Question:
1) I know that this is probably coming from a place of ocd, but the other day my son was eating a dairy chocolate wafer candy near some meaty food sitting on the meaty counter. I got a little nervous that he dropped some chocolate crumbs in the area and on the floor, but I didn't see anything. And then I accidentally dropped the meaty oven mitt onto the floor where he was previously standing, but I still used it to take the hot food from the oven. I don't know if it got crumbs on it from the chocolate when it fell on the floor. Is the oven tray okay?
2) I left a different meaty oven tray sitting on the floor for a significant amount of time. The bottom of it was covered in a layer of wet salt. Is there any concern that the wet salt transferred dairy taste between the floor and the salt? (I had just had an ice cream party for some children the day before and had not yet had a chance to clean my floor).
3) And in regards to the oven tray, I held a pot of boiling water momentarily over it when it was sitting on the floor and the pot did spill a little bit, but I don't know if it spilled directly on the tray. Is this a problem?
Thank you.
Answer:
Hello,
- There is no need for you to be concerned, because the whole concern if maybe some crumbs dropped, therefore you have nothing real to base the fear on. Besides even if some crumbs did drop who said that they were in the place the mitt fell. Therefore, there is no need for concern.
- Here too there is no need to be concerned, unless you know that there was actually milk on the floor.
- I don’t see why there is a problem if some hot water spilled on the tray, as the water is pareve.
Best wishes
