Dairy sink

Question:

I accidentally spilled seltzer from a glass I was using when eating meat – into the dairy sink. (The glass didn’t go in just the seltzer.) There were dishes in the dairy sink at the time. Do I have to lasher whatever was in the sink?
(Newish to keeping kosher kitchen, sorry if this is obvious!)

Answer:

You are very smart for asking… without it you won’t be able to learn! You do not have be concerned about what happened. The reason is because the glass was clean and didn’t have any meat or dairy inside it, therefore the seltzer was still pareve. A utensil can only make something meaty or dairy if it comes in contact with a hot food or drink, but not when the food is cold. Therefore the dishes in the sink are still fine.

Keep on asking, learning and growing!
