Question:
As I was finishing dinner I noticed a tiny fruit fly landed on my knife. I wiped it off with a paper towel. Do I have to kasher the knife, or just wash it?
Thank you!
Answer:
Washing off the knife be sufficient. The knife is at best a kli sheini, the fly does not have a good taste, and there is no reason to assume that any taste was absorbed into the knife.
Best wishes
